DAVIESS CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Hancock County teacher's arraigned today on dozens of counts related to child pornography.

42-year-old Daniel Scott Neal pleaded not guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court this morning. This comes after an investigation that began in May.

Neal's arraignment today comes about two weeks after he was indicted on 39 counts related to child pornography.

A grand jury returned that indictment on November 14. Neal turned himself in five days later and posted the full $120,000 cash bond two days later.

Some of the conditions of his bond state that he can't have contact with anyone under the age of 18 or use the internet. He must physically appear for all of his court dates.

Neal is an English teacher and track and cross country coach at Hancock County High school. He's been suspended with pay while the school board conducts its own investigation. Commonwealth attorney Bruce Kuegel wants to reassure parents that may have been in contact with Neal.

"We want to point out that the files that are listed in the indictment do not appear to be locally produced, said Bruce Kuegel, Commonwealth Attorney. "Beyond that, I really can't say anything else."

Neal's next court appearance is scheduled for January 30.
