Longtime local public servant, Jim Price, dies at 83

Sad news to pass along, a longtime public servant, Jim Price passed away today.

Price was a Evansville City councilman for 22 years and served as the Knight Township trustee for more than 10 years.

Price was 83 years old.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke made the following statement on the passing of former Evansville City Councilman Jim Price:

"I'm saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Not only was he a dedicated public servant to this community for many years, he was also a great gentleman who always treated the public with dignity and respect. Jim's contributions to the city will be long remembered, and he will be missed."

Visitation is set for Sunday from 2 to 7 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. The funeral will be on Monday at Terrace Parke General Baptist Church.

Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery.
