EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Authorities responded to a serious accident Wednesday night on the north side in Evansville.
Police tell us 20-year-old George Whitney of Evansville was driving the car that rear ended a semi truck near Garvin and Eichel around 8:30 p.m.
Investigators say 55-year-old Dewey McLaney of Gordon Alabama was driving the semi and had slowed down at the railroad tracks when the crash happened.
Police say the semi dragged the car about 200 ft. just south of Enlow Ave.
Whitney suffered head trauma and a head laceration and was taken to Deaconess where he is listed in serious condition.
McLaney was not hurt, and was required per law to take a blood/alcohol test.
Authorities were called to the scene to reconstruct the accident to determine how it happened.
