HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

As winter approaches, one organization in Hopkins County, Kentucky wants to make sure everyone is nice and warm.

It's part of the Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program that helps pay heating bills.

Organizers from Pennyrile Allied Community Services say over 200 people pre-registered last month and they've helped out with over $25,000 in assistance.

Hopkins County residents have until December 14th to register.

"There's a lot of people that are very grateful for the assistance because it's getting close to Christmas, so they're thinking about buying Christmas for family and kids and that type of thing," said Bobbi Ann Wilcox, the Directory of the Hopkins County PACS.

For more information on heating assistance, you can call (270) 821-3232.
