The Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive is in full swing, but this year's campaign is facing some difficulties because the demand for assistance has increased more than 50%.
Kenny Kent Chevrolet made a donation today.
The Salvation Army on Fulton Ave, says this gracious donation comes at a critical time because there are so many people in our community needing help this holiday season.
What the organization raises during their annual Red Kettle Drive allows them to help struggling families, children, elderly and homeless in the community starting immediately and continuing through all next year as well.
During the past several weeks, Kenny Kent Chevrolet has worked on a Thanksgiving promotional event benefiting the Salvation Army. They held a food drive at local IGAs. 14 News was there today when they presented their food collection.
"Being the holidays of course lots of people are trying to make ends meet," said Maj. David Minks. "The cold season, the price of gas-there's lots of things that stress out families that there's just not enough.they come to the salvation army for help."
They also presented a check for over $2,000 for the Salvation Army Tuesday.
