Shoppers have been clicking their way to the biggest Cyber Monday ever.
You may not know it, but one of the country's largest suppliers of BMX bikes and parts is right here in the Tri-State.
Dan's Competition in Mt. Vernon does a huge percentage of it's annual sales online and Monday was no different with customers racing for their Cyber Monday deals.
"We're kind of under the radar. I don't think a lot of people know that Dan's Competition is right here in their backyard," owner Bill Cartwright said.
Bill Cartwright watched orders pour in through his company's website. He says online sales are ramping up for Cyber Monday.
"Our web traffic is going to be probably be 21 to 25 percent above say, last Monday. Sales wise, it could fall anywhere from 3 to 10 percent increase," Cartwright said.
While many people shop the Internet for clothing or appliance deals, Cartwright says his shop leads the pack for BMX bikes, parts, and accessories.
He says web sales now make up the vast majority of Dan's Competition's business.
"We've seen our sales online shift from being 18 to 20 percent of the companies order volume to today, where it's 70 to 80 percent on a daily basis," Cartwright tells 14 News.
Analysts predict Americans will spend an estimated one and a half billion dollars through midnight.
Cartwright says snapping up some of those sales is about making it easier for customers to point and buy.
"We may have had kids on the site over the last week or two creating wish lists and we allow them to email them to their family. Then their family is coming back and making those purchases for them today," Cartwright said.
Experts say online sales are growing because shoppers are getting more and more used to shopping on the web. Some people are hooked.
Purchases made from smartphones and tablet computers are boosting as well.
