Man in jail after police say he stabbed man in the neck

An Evansville man is in jail after police say he stabbed a man.

Officers say 31-year-old Gary Hill stabbed Cedric Jeter in the neck behind the Ozanam Homeless Shelter on Reed Street.

Hill was arrested a short time later.

He's in the Vanderburgh County Jail charged with battery with serious injury with a deadly weapon.

His bond is set at $20,000.

Jeter was taken to Deaconess Hospital. His condition is not being released.
