Some West Side Nut Club members skipped the sales and got in the holiday spirit Friday, setting up Santa Land along Franklin Street.
An important part of the annual Christmas event: the tree!
The 35 footer arrived Friday morning and took at least a couple of tries to get set up just right.
The tree, along with the truck used to transport it and the crane needed to hoist it up were all donated by nut clubbers.
"It's a special occasion we've got children that come down of all ages get their pictures taken with Santa and that's really what it's all about. It's about the kids," said Santa Land Chairman Justin Guetling, West Side Nut Club. "It doesn't really matter how much money we bring in or for donations or how much we spend just as long as the kids have a good time and get to see Santa."
Santa Land opens in two weeks, the weekend of December 8 and 9 and continues the following weekend.
You can stop by to see Santa from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
