HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Dawson Springs man pleads guilty to six counts of Second Degree Cruelty to Animals.

That's according to our media partner the Madisonville Messenger.

31-year-old Daniel W. Carter will serve 20 days in jail.

This follows an investigation by the Humane Society.

According to court documents, the assistant director received numerous complaints last month about malnourished horses on Carter's property.
