On Monday, the EVSC recognized 12 new Hall of Fame honorees.
EVSC says the Hall of Fame recognizes community members who make a positive impact on public education. The district started that tradition in 2010 and say they're going to continue it every two years.
EVSC Foundation President Amy Barron tells 14 News the community nominates honorees who are then selected by a panel of judges. Those inductees will be recognized at a dinner coming up in March.
"We were very particular at looking at not only financial contributions. That's just a small, a small part, not everyone but what services they have been able to provide. We have teachers, we have EVSC alum. We have some people that actually did not go through EVSC but are tremendous supporters of public education here in the community," Barron said.
The 2012 EVSC Hall of Fame honorees are:
