2012 one of the warmest on record in the tri-state

Although our fall has been cooler than normal, the rest of the year has been one of the warmest on record.

From January through mid November, Evansville has averaged 62.5 degrees, making this the third hottest year since records started being kept in the late 1800s.

The warmest year on record was 1921 when temperatures averaged 63.2, followed by 1938 when temps averaged 62.8 degrees.

Both Paducah, Kentucky and the nation as a whole are on track to see the warmest year on record.
