A brand new art event is underway right now and will continue through the weekend.
The Evansville Fine Art Show kicked off Friday morning at The Centre with a ribbon cutting.
This show features original hand-made items from about 40 artists, including two locals. You can find jewelry, paintings, sculptures and glass works, even clothing. The show's Executive Director Patty Naronzy says it has potential to grow.
"One of the goals in four to seven years is to make it a major regional event and bring people from Louisville and Cincinnati and Nashville to come to the city and see the show," said Naronzy.
"I'm so glad they brought it here to Evansville," said Evansville-based artist Kimberly Chalos. "It's really what we need. It'll bring a lot of people in to the community and get a lot of people involved."
The art show runs until 7:00 p.m. Friday night. Then from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are eight dollars to get in, or five dollars for those 55 and older. Kids five and under are free.
