INDIANA (WFIE) -

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has chosen to defer his decision on the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Friday, Governor Daniels sent a letter to the US Department of Health and Human Services Friday afternoon to respond to the federal government's request regarding implementation of the act, specifically the establishment of a health care exchange.

Because his term as governor ends in January 2013, Governor Daniels has said he would leave that decision to the next Governor and legislature.

He has forwarded the preferences of Governor-elect Mike Pence to HHS.
