Thanksgiving transit and trash collection schedule for Owensboro

The City of Owensboro has released the Thanksgiving holiday schedule for government offices, transit and sanitation collection.

All city government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23.

City transit buses will not run on Thanksgiving Day.

Officials said buses will run on Friday, November 23 from 8am to 4pm.

There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day.

Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday, November 23 and Friday's routes will be collected on Saturday, November 24.

Since the holiday can produce extra trash, customers are urged to free up space in their mobile cart by using the Drop-Off Recycling Center at 1501 West 7th Street.
