New critters have arrived at Mesker Park Zoo.

14 News was there as two rare Mexican Grey Wolves were released into their new exhibit just before sunset Tuesday night.

The zoo says these wolves are the most endangered wolf species in the world. There are only about 300 Mexican Grey Wolves in captivity and about 70 in the wild in Arizona and New Mexico.

They will be used to rear pups at the zoo.

The wolves were transferred to the same wildlife refuge in California in 2009.

This pair had pups in 2010 and 2011 and raised them in a large pack and the wolves have proven to be excellent parents.
