EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Evansville Police are investigating a meth lab that was found in a tree overnight.

It was found near the intersection of C Street and Barker Avenue. Police also say they found meth making materials nearby, but no arrests have yet been made.

Police say this all happened a little after midnight, and that they did spot two suspicious subjects.

When officers got to the 2800 block of C Street, they say they spotted two subjects dressed in black. While waiting for those two subjects to walk to the officers' location, they say the two cut between some houses and then continued walking down an alley between B and A Streets.

Police say they then searched for the two subjects on Barker, and it appeared they had walked into a house on that street.

When officers walked back to that alley between B and C Streets, they say they found a grocery bag hanging in a tree that contained a one-pot meth lab.

Officers also say they found a Draino bottle near the railroad tracks.

Earlier, neighbors told 14 News that drug use is a problem in that neighborhood.

"We've actually found syringes in the alleys laying around. We've called," resident Junior King said.

When asked what, King would like to see done about the situation, he said, "More patrols, more of the community helping because we need to get drugs off the street."

Police say this investigation is ongoing. We will have more on this as we learn further details.
