An emergency medical technician has been charged in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist in Chicago's northern suburbs.

Kristian Hernandez was charged Friday with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and failing to report it.

A driver struck and killed 53-year-old Ronald Bougan Monday as he was cycling.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (http://bit.ly/TS43Mo ) that Cook County sheriff's police traced the suspect's car through a body shop where it had been taken for repairs.

Hernandez is an EMT from Skokie. He was ordered held on a $100,000 bond.
