The state known as the "bourbon capital" is getting several dozen new jobs created by the world's top bourbon producer.
Beam Inc. said Thursday that Louisville will be home of its new Global Business Services Center. The center is expected to open early next year and will result in 60 jobs.
The Illinois-based company says the center will serve as the primary point of contact for Beam's North America business related to benefits, compensation, accounts payable and payroll.
It says half of the 60 positions have already been filled and are operating at an interim site in Shepherdsville. The other jobs will be filled over the next 12 months.
The center will be in an entertainment district in downtown Louisville.
Beam's products include Jim Beam and Maker's Mark bourbons.
