The Vanderburgh County Clerk's Office is celebrating a successful election.
Clerk Susan Kirk says things went smoothly on Tuesday.
She tells 14 News more than 73,000 people voted. That's down from about 79,000 in 2008.
This was the first time for vote centers to be used county-wide in a general election, and Washington Square Mall saw the most voters, more than 3,700. Next came the 4-H Fair Auditorium with more than 2,700.
"For the most part, I think they're a success. We've saved taxpayers dollars, $85,000, and also fast paced society instead of having one place to vote, you now have your choice of 23 and that makes it a lot easier," Kirk said.
Kirk says military ballots are still being accepted for the next 10 days.
