Generally quiet weather for Election Day expected

Posted: Updated:

A few storm systems will be affecting the U.S. on Election Day Tuesday.

A quick moving low over the Great Lakes will spread rain over Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana along with scattered snow showers generally over northern Michigan and the upper peninsula.

Some of that rain could reach the tri-state, although it should remain scattered and rather light.

Elsewhere, a developing low just off the southeast coast of the country will start bringing rain to that area.  This low will eventually become a Nor'easter by Wednesday and Thursday.

Other than a few showers in the Pacific Northwest, the rest of the country should see dry conditions, although cold air will continue over the Midwest and northeast.
