Deaconess hospital is raising awareness about prostate and testicular cancers this month.

It's part of the popular "No Shave November."

Deaconess has asked their male employees to ditch their razors -- and help them "grow awareness" by "growing a beard."

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. James Porter, says he's not sure how the five o'clock shadow will go over with his family, but he's on board with the campaign that focuses on educating people about early cancer detection.

"In addition to all the hairy faced men running around the organization, we'll be working with several charities throughout the month of November to help them raise money, to raise awareness and improve screenings for cancer," Dr. Porter said.

Deaconess is keeping track of the facial hair with a "beard cam." Click here for more information on early cancer detection and care.
