EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Need a good laugh?
The national touring group Operation Comedy will perform Thursday night at the University of Evansville. The mission: to support military veterans and make everyone smile.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in Eykamp Hall.
The shows feature a lineup of nationally headlining comedians, led by Jon Stites.
He's the founder of Operation Comedy and a veteran who has been featured on The Bob & Tom Show, and writes for National Lampoon.
Operation Comedy's mission is to bring together troops and their communities for a night of education, recognition, and laughter.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Evansville Vet Center.
"They help with readjustment counseling when veterans return from deployment and they also serve families too," said Cherie Leonhardt with the Office of Veteran Affairs. "Great, great organization, important in our community. Then also, part of the proceeds will go toward UE vets which is our student veteran organization on campus."
Tickets will be available at the door.
They're $7 for public, $5 for veterans, current service members and students.
