Hancock County bridge gets makeover

Posted: Updated:

If you regularly cross the Bob Cummings-Lincoln Trail Bridge between Hawesville and Cannelton, you may have noticed some changes.

There are new signs and pavement markings for northbound traffic on the Kentucky side of the bridge in Hancock County.

An enhanced 15 MPH advisory speed has also been added to the right-hand turn where Highway 69 transitions from Clay Street to Main Street in Hawesville.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say the enhancements are designed to reduce crashes in the area.

The bridge is located along Highway 69 and Indiana State Route 237.
