One-of-a kind Evansville Restaurant reopening after long break

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A legendary Evansville eatery is about to reopen following a fire that left it closed for more than a year and a half.

A fire broke out in the kitchen of House of Como in May of 2011. It forced owners to close the doors.

But now according to employees, the restaurant on Kentucky Avenue will be open again this week. The person we talked to at the restaurant said it will be open again at 4 o'clock on Thursday afternoon.

The restaurant was famous for its Christmas decorations all year around and its menu of Greek and Mediterranean specialties.
