A Freeze Warning is in effect for the tri-state Thursday morning with temperatures expected to drop down below freezing for the first time this fall.
The National Weather Service in Paducah has indicated this may be the last frost or freeze advisories they issue this year. Once the growing season is effectively over, the weather service discontinues cold weather alerts.
This is a little late in the year for the tri-state not to have had below freezing temperatures, so plants have been on borrowed time already.
Bottom line, if you want to save any plants from the freezing temps, cover them with a sheet or bring them inside. We'll see slightly warmer temperatures for Friday and Saturday.
