Louisville racks up Big East awards

Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and linebacker Preston Brown have been selected as the Big East Conference's offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Bridgewater threw for a career-high 416 yards with two fourth-quarter touchdowns Friday night to help the No. 12 Cardinals (8-0, 3-0 Big East) beat Cincinnati 34-31 in overtime. Trailing 24-14, Bridgewater threw touchdown passes of 30 and 64 yards to lead Louisville's fifth straight come-from-behind victory.

Bridgewater has completed 70.7 percent of his passes (162 of 229) for 13 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

Brown had a game-high 13 tackles and an interception against the Bearcats. The Cincinnati native has 30 tackles the past two games and ranks 10th in the Big East with 7.2 per game.

Louisville hosts Temple (3-4, 2-2) on Saturday.
