Owensboro Police say Sunday morning's robbery and shooting happened at the Quality Quick gas station on Breckenridge Street, and right now, the search continues for the two men involved.
The victim of the armed robbery is 29-year-old Brandon Gant of Owensboro.
Police say Gant was shot in the altercation, but that he is in good condition and that he has been released from the hospital.
"Mr. Gant has advised us that while he was in his vehicle, he was approached by two male subjects unknown to him, and they were armed with a hand gun," said Michael Hathaway with OPD.
Police say the two men demanded money from Gant, while holding him at gunpoint around 10;45 a.m.
"Unfortunately, during the altercation, Mr. Gant had received a non-life threatening injury," Hathaway told 14 News.
Police say one of the suspects shot Gant, and that both men ran away before officers arrived. Soon after, Gant was taken across the street to Owensboro Medical Health System.
"We do have two suspects that were listed by Mr. Gant, two black male suspects approximately 20 years of age for each of those," Hathaway said. "The first black male was about 5' 2", medium build, light-skinned, also having dreadlocks to his chin length. And the second black male suspect, he's a tall build, a tall person with thin build, I should say. And he was last seen wearing a red hoodie and black sweat pants."
Police say, if you have any information that could help lead to an arrest in this case, you are encouraged to contact the Owensboro Police Department.
