Former student speaks to alma mater about reaching for dream jobs

Posted: Updated:

A former Henderson County High School student stopped into his Alma mater on Friday to spread some encouragement to students.

Jacob Johnston landed a 'super' job as Visual Development Coordinator for Marvel Studios at the age of 21.

Now 23, he has worked on some of the largest grossing films in the last few years, such as Captain America, Thor, and The Avengers.

He wanted to talk to students about how obtaining your dream job isn't out of reach.

"You can go out and do whatever you want, whether it's in California or New York, or even somewhere else in Kentucky. Being able to offer that just feels so amazing because I feel like kids, you tell them one thing and they need to hear these things. They want to be inspired, and if you get the chance to do it, and the see that you're close to your age and you're doing it, then they can do it, too," Johnston said.

Johnston isn't done yet. He says he is working on becoming a Junior Producer, which is one step closer to his goal of Executive Producer.
