HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -
Four Henderson County High School faculty members were hurt Tuesday morning when they were trying to stop a fight between four students.
Henderson Police say they were called to a fight in the school's gymnasium around 7:50 a.m. where they say four teen girls were involved in a fight.
Authorities say four faculty members were injured while trying to stop that fight.
Police say two of the faculty members, Program Assistant Mark Bennett and Assistant Principal, Green Unit, Doneta Williams were assaulted by two of the females who were involved in the initial fight and received minor injuries.
Officers say Rachel Bonow with the Special Education Department and Program Assistant Roger Hetrick were also injured in the incident.
Police say a school resource officer responded to the fight.
"Right after it had happened. I think he had gone to drop off some paperwork, but we had other officers close by. Of course with anything that happens like that, we're going to send multiple officers. It's a large school," said Jennifer Richmond with the Henderson Police Department.
Authorities say two of the female juveniles were charged with Assault 3rd Degree and lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The investigation is on-going.
