A Vincennes man was arrested Saturday morning for driving intoxicated and texting.
Troopers say around 1:35 a.m. Saturday morning, Travis R. Telligman was traveling
northbound on U.S. 41 at S.R. 67 when his truck drove off the roadway on the left side
and nearly struck a guardrail. State Police say the vehicle drove back into the right
lane, but left the roadway on the right side nearly striking another
guardrail.
Troopers stopped the vehicle and saw several beer
cans and a case of beer on the passenger side floor board and another case of
beer in the bed of the truck.
During the traffic stop, Troopers says they were able to determine Telligman was texting just prior to him nearly striking the
guardrails.
Authorities say further investigation revealed he was legally intoxicated and
had a blood alcohol content of .18%.
Telligman was arrested and taken to
the Knox County Jail where he was later released after posting bond.
