EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A man is in custody for the weekend burglary of an Evansville jewelry store.

It happened at the Rogers Jewelers on South Green River Road. Authorities say a passerby called around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning to report the window had been smashed.

However, officers say they already had their suspect, John Miller, in custody. They say they found Miller trying to sell the jewelry he stole from the store at Casino Aztar.

"We have glass break alarm on our alarm system. That was the only piece of glass that was left is what our glass break is hooked up to," said Rogers Jewelers employee, Derek Williams.

Authorities say Miller later admitted to throwing a concrete stone through the store window and taking the items.

He also has an arrest warrant out of Florida. He is being held without bond.
