VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Members of Rolling Thunder braved some chilly winds Saturday afternoon for the first annual Wheels for Warriors event.

The two-hour ride raised more than $2,500 for the Wounded Warrior Project. More than a hundred riders came out to show their support.

Organizers were passionate about supporting veterans returning home from war.

"They'll go and meet with their family, they offer counseling, they offer financial supports all the way through the rehab process. They come and they have a mentorship program for other Wounded Warriors that have been injured and have gotten past that," organizer Isaac Birch said.

Rolling Thunder partnered with local businesses, including Stoll's Country Inn. The restaurant donated 40 percent of its gift card sales this week to the Wounded Warrior Project.
