GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -
A woman has now died as a result of a shooting in Gibson County.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner says that 43-year-old Lee Ann Stampfli of Haubstadt passed away from a gunshot wound to the head.
51-year-old Randall Smith of Haubstadt died on Tuesday as result of this incident.
On Tuesday night, Gibson County Dispatch received a call around 10 P.M. from a man about an "accidental shooting" on County Road 1200 South.
When investigators arrived they found two people suffering from gun shot wounds. The woman, Lee Ann Stampfli was flown to a local hospital.
Officials are still working to determine who fired the deadly shots. "We're not to the point where we're going to say if this is a murder/suicide," Sheriff Ballard said.
Neighbors say the man and his girlfriend were renting the home from a family who lives just up the street. They say they were a fairly quiet couple that weren't outside a lot.
Authorities tell us this is a "death investigation" and they're not looking for any other suspects at this time.
