VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Mater Dei student admitted to vandalizing Reitz High School.

Police say they found a car with a Mater Dei sticker in the parking lot of Reitz late last night. The owner's keys and ID were inside.

Officers say because of the long time west side rivalry between the two schools, and tomorrow's battle of the bowl game - they suspected the student had painted the Reitz "R" red and gold.

Police say they found that to be the case.

They say a wall had also been painted with the message "God is on our side."

Police found a phone number in the suspects car, where they called and left a message. The suspect then showed up with her grandparents, and admitted to the vandalism.
