VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Less than four weeks now before Election Day and hundreds of voters are already casting their ballots in the Tri-State.

For many of them, it's all about convenience and avoiding the hassles of Election Day.

Since Monday, more than 500 people have voted in Vanderburgh County alone, and the county clerk says that's the most the county has ever seen in the first three days.

Early voting began Monday inside the Election Center on the second floor of the Civic Center, and County Clerk Susan Kirk says people were already lined up Monday morning when voting began.

Right now, the Election Center is the only place in Vanderburgh County to vote early. But five libraries will hold early voting beginning, Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m. making it even easier for people to avoid long lines on Election Day.

"I was very pleased that I came in here and walked right in instead of having to wait in line," early voter, Ryan Gilliam said.

"If you've got a long line for something, he's got to find a chair to sit down in until it's his turn so this just makes it much easier. You can come in, vote, and go home and you've done your duty," early voter, Joanne Meth said.

Early voting is happening throughout the Tri-State:

In Warrick County, more than 150 people have voted in the Judicial Center.

In Henderson County, more than 140 people have voted inside the County Clerk's Office in the courthouse.
