DUBOIS CO, IN (WFIE) -

A special meeting was held Wednesday afternoon for govenrment officials to hear the findings of a feasability report on the proposed Interstate 67 Corridor.

State and local government officials met at the Huntingburg Events Center Wednesday to discuss that proposed stretch of road that would run parallel to Interstate 65 from Indianapolis to Bowling Green.

The study presented was done by Cambridge Systematics and included travel demand forecasts, projected safety improvements, and economic impact analysis.

If built, officials say I-67 would divert traffic from nearby arteries, including US 231.

Wednesday's presenters also say I-67 would attract more businesses to southern Indiana, sustaining local economics for years to come.
