McClure earns 2nd Player of the Week honor

The Great Lakes Valley Conference named University of Southern Indiana senior midfielder Jeffrey McClure (Indianapolis, Indiana) the men's soccer Player of the Week for a second-straight week. The Player of the Week award also is the second of McClure's career.

McClure earned the award after leading the Screaming Eagles to their first-ever victory over 16th-ranked Rockhurst University Sunday afternoon. The senior art major scored all three Eagle goals in the 3-2 upset of the top-20 Hawks, marking the first USI win over a ranked opponent since 2000.

In 2012, McClure has recorded a career-best and team-high 22 points on nine goals and four assists. He has scored eight of his nine goals on a Sunday this season and a total of seven in the last two weeks (one vs. University of Illinois Springfield, September 9; four vs. University of Indianapolis, September 30; three vs. Rockhurst, October 7).

The Eagles hit the road this week in the GLVC when they travel to eighth-ranked Drury University Friday and Missouri University of Science and Technology Sunday.
