The Monday morning court appearances scheduled for an Ohio county man charged with killing his estranged wife has been postponed.
We're told he'll be undergoing a mental health evaluation instead.
The "preliminary hearing" was scheduled for 32-year old Jeremie Simpson who's accused of murdering 24-yer-old Dami-Ann Simpson in September.
He was arrested on September 27th at Suburban Manor Apartments where police say he shot Dami-Ann Simpson to death.
Simpson is charged with 10 counts, including murder, kidnapping, wanton endangerment, burglary, violation of an emergency protection order, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At his arraignment, which was the same day the murder took place, Ohio County Circuit Court says he pled not guilty.
State police say three of Dami-Ann's friends were in her apartment when Jeremie showed up. They say he restrained them and held them there until Dami-Ann came home when he shot and killed her.
Beaver Dam police say Dami-Ann filed an emergency protection order on August 20th. But it can only do so much in terms of protection.
It gives police the authority to arrest the person if they show up.
