GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

14 News has received new information about the salmonella outbreak involving a Gibson County farm.

A 42-page state report shows that the farm's cantaloupes were not tainted with salmonella.

The state collected more than 20 samples for testing. Those results reveal only one watermelon tested positive for salmonella.

Out of 12 cantaloupe samples, taken by the state, none came back positive for salmonella or listeria.

A test of the farm's water wells were also clean.

The report also notes that one day after investigators visited the farm on August 14th, Tim Chamberlain made many of the suggested changes to get the farm in better operating standards.

Again, these are just the findings from the State Health Department. The FDA tests did return with positive salmonella results on cantaloupes.

In the state investigator's conclusion he writes that:

Mr. Chamberlain would not be growing cantaloupes in the future and planning on selling his cantaloupe equipment.
