We are still weeks away from the election, but already voting machines are being tested out.

Thursday, the Vanderburgh County Election Board, and a few others, did a public test of some of the machines.

Vanderburgh County Clerk Susan Kirk says there were no problems.

Before the election, Kirk says all machines are tested.

"Number one, it's required by law. And number two, we want to do it, we want to be sure that everything is running properly that it's counting the votes properly," Kirk said. "That's what we're here for and that's what I want to be sure happens."

Next Tuesday is the first day for early, in-person voting, at the County Clerk's office.
