The Newburgh Civitan will hold its annual Zombie Farm beginning Thursday, Oct. 4, and continuing through October 31. They will provide "no-scare" performances from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. each night for younger children or the faint of heart.
It's being held October 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 and 25-31.
These nightly no-scare performances are the perfect opportunity for children ages 10 and under to use their free admission coupon from the Easter Seals Safe Halloween Coupon Book.
For the 39th year, Junior and Adult Civitan members are hosting this tri-state Halloween season tradition.
The project began as the Newburgh Haunted House, a fund-raiser for Newburgh Civitan, and continued to grow.
The Junior and Adult Civitan members participate in both the set-up and operation of the event, which is now known as the Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm.
Over the years, it has become a mainstay in the area, with over 50 live action actors and staff on board. NEW THIS YEAR, the crew has added an outdoor maze and zombie town.
The project has won numerous Adult/Junior Civitan joint project awards. Proceeds from the Haunted House go toward funding for Newburgh Civitan and additional proceeds are donated to charities, including Easter Seals.
Easter Seals Safe Halloween Coupon Books retail for $1 and include over $75 worth of free treats from area businesses.
The books, which are sold by Civitan members at the Zombie Farm, include a coupon for a child's FREE admission to the no-scare performance at the Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm.
Eighteen other coupons are redeemable for treats including ice cream, games of bowling, movie rentals and much more! Proceeds from sales of the coupon books fund therapies for local children and adults at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.
In addition, during the month of October, free fliers with safe trick-or-treating tips will be distributed to area elementary school students and are also available at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.
The flier includes a coupon for $2 off admission to the Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm, and each time a coupon is redeemed, Newburgh Civitan donates $1 to Easter Seals!
