Two teens killed in overnight accident, police say driver on drugs

Two Wayne County, Illinois residents are killed in an accident.  

It happened overnight Tuesday at a rest area along I-64 near Mount Vernon, Illinois.

According to our media partner, WIKY, 19-year-old Robert Hayes, of Bluford, drove into the rest area, jumped a curb and struck a tree.

State police say two passengers were killed. 24-year-old Holly Fenton, of Wayne City and 20-year- old Cody Bidabe, of Fairfield.

Two other passengers injured in the crash were flown to a hospital in St. Louis.

Troopers say Hayes is charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
