Rescue Mission making progress in move

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Evansville Rescue Mission is making progress in their move to the old VA clinic building.

President Tracy Gorman says while they're waiting on the state to check over building codes, they're spending time painting, knocking out old walls, and working on landscaping.

Gorman tells 14 News the Rescue Mission is thankful for all their community support.

"We really have been amazed at the number of people that have sent us emails, sent us letters, sent us contributions, without really even soliciting for those. We've just had people who have sensed the excitement of the Rescue Mission moving from a facility that was very inadequate to something that is going to be really nice for the community and for us," said Tracy Gorman, the President and CEO of Evansville Rescue Mission.

Gorman says the Rescue Mission should be moved in by early next year.
