EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
The 91st annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is just a few days away, and set up is well underway along Franklin Street.
Official set up of stages starts Saturday, booths Sunday morning.
And speaking of those food booths, the Fall Festival Chairman says this year, they'll have more food booths than ever before, 135 of them.
There about six brand new booths to the festival this year, several of them will be added to the corner of Franklin and 11th.
Also this year, is the first year for the Wise Choice Menu, offering healthier foods under 500 calories.
31 booths are participating in the Wise Choice Menu, with a total of 57 different foods, but that does not mean your favorite fried goodies are going away, they'll be there.
Here are some of the new foods different booths are offering:
- Green tomato cobbler
- Stromboli nachos
- Salad on a stick
- A loose goat meat sandwich
- Ostrich and Antelope jerky!
Remember, the city is offering a shuttle once again this year during lunch hours.
It's free for city employees and a dollar each way for everyone else.
