Warrick County fire crews are investigating a suspicious fire.

Officials say the fire broke out at an abandoned home just after 10 Tuesday night at Parklane Drive and Walnut Street in Boonville.

The city fire chief says it's being called suspicious after crews found a backdoor kicked in.

He also says lightning could be a factor. Neighbors claim to have heard a loud boom prior to the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
