EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
The owner of Gil's Four Seasons which closed earlier this month is apologizing on Tuesday for the way he says he returned a customer's property.
Customer Brent Jackson says security cameras at his home caught someone throwing the part out of a truck window and into his front yard.
Brent and his wife want an apology.
Brent and Erin Jackson say they tried for weeks to get a piece of their lawn trimmer back from Gil's after it closed. But, Gil's owner says after some frustrating encounters, he made a special delivery he now says he regrets.
"That was a frustrating point in this whole situation of closing the doors of my business," said Timothy P Bockelman, former owner of Gil's Four Seasons.
Security cameras at the corners of the Jackson's Evansville home captured video showing a red truck pulling up and the driver tossing a piece of the Jackson's lawn trimmer out of the driver's side window.
"They must think we're stupid. I feel like I've been slapped. You know, I think it's horrible, reprehensible," Erin Jackson, Gil's customer.
That red truck belongs to Bockelman.
Bockelman tells 14 News his actions were in frustration to the Jackson's repeated requests for their property during a tough time of having to close his business.
"It wasn't the best way to handle it and it certainly matched well with how he handled it, but it still wasn't right. I shouldn't have done it that way. So, I do apologize to him," Bockelman said.
Brent Jackson says he accepts the apology and says he understands Bockelman's frustrations.
Bockelman says he regrets his actions and isn't looking forward to the road ahead.
"I'm just taking it one day at a time, trying to pick up the pieces that have fallen apart," Bockelman said.
Gil's owners say that they're going through some tough times, but they are trying to make good for their customers.
Brent and Erin Jackson say they're glad to have their part back, they're just not happy with the way it was returned.
