HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

A program called "Jammin' Minute" has made its way to some elementary schools in Henderson County.

Bend Gate Elementary and A.B. Chandler are both taking part to promote healthy living.

The world record event took place at 10 Thursday morning.

Schools from all over the nation paused and did one minute of physical activity.

The program is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of making activity a daily habit and ensuring kids learn healthy habits at a young age.

Students here at bend gate jam for one minute every day and school officials say they're really embracing it.

"Exercise is conducive to brain activity which helps student learning and that's what we're all here for is student learning so the kids really have fun with it. It's a great way for them to have fun and get those endorphins and brain activity to stimulate them," said Assistant Principal Bob Lawson.

They're all about healthy living at Bend Gate. Thursday night, there's a health fair from 5-7 at the school.

The fair is open to public and sponsors, prizes and games.
