HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -
Monday night, entrepreneurs in Hopkins County can get a lesson on social media and how it can improve their business.
It's all part of the 5th Entrepreneur's Networking Dinner.
Many of us have a personal Facebook page, but Monday's event will teach businesses how Facebook can be a valuable tool.
The theme of the event is Social Media 101, and those in attendance will learn everything from how to set up a Facebook account, to how to advertise and increase business.
Former Madisonville Mayor Will Cox is the keynote speaker and it will be held at the economic development office in the MTEC Building. Organizers say social media is so much more than a site to interact with friends and family, and they want to teach local businesses how to take their company to the next level.
"It's the name of the game nowadays. It's the name of the game and it's an inexpensive form of not only advertising, marketing, and all that, but in staying in touch and building those networks up," said HCEDC President Gerald Cook.
The event goes from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
If you're interested in checking it out, you can call the Economic Development Corp. at 270-821-1939.
