A western Kentucky man has pleaded guilty to two counts of murder stemming from a wreck on Valentine's Day that ended up with an off-duty firefighter and another person being killed.
The Gleaner reported that 59-year-old Albert David Williams of Spottsville entered the plea Friday in Henderson Circuit Court.
Along with murder, Williams also pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence, his third such offense.
Williams admitted to driving his truck into the path of 29-year-old Jonathan Coomes' truck on Feb. 14 at about 5:20 p.m. CDT. Coomes, a Henderson firefighter, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Coomes' truck, 56-year-old Michael Pritchett of Baskett, died more than two months later from injuries suffered in the collision.
Formal sentencing is set for Oct. 22.
