EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Hundreds of couples are expected to turn out for the third annual Diamond Dash in Downtown Evansville on Sunday, October 14. The winning couple will end the event with a $12,000 Hearts on Fire diamond ring.

"Last year's Diamond Dash was such a success, we couldn't wait to do it again. It's fun for everyone," says Tim Hoehn, president of Kruckemeyer & Cohn Fine Jewelry. The business is again partnering with the Google-backed mobile gaming company SCVNGR, a developer of location-based games that are accessible via mobile phone.

During the Diamond Dash, couples will solve challenges from their cell phones at locations in Downtown Evansville to earn points for the chance to win the diamond ring.

To sign up for Diamond Dash, couples are required to submit their love stories at www.KandCDiamondDash.com, where more event information can be found. The grand prize Hearts on Fire ring is on display at Kruckemeyer & Cohn, along with details on how to play. The store is located at 944 North Burkhardt Road in Evansville.

Diamond Dash will begin at Evansville's Casino Aztar Events Plaza at 11 a.m., rain or shine. The winning couple will be announced and the Hearts On Fire diamond ring presented at a 2 p.m. after-party at the Events Plaza. An on-stage proposal is always possible.

Kruckemeyer & Cohn was founded in Evansville in 1895 and specializes in one-of-a-kind and designer jewelry.  They were the first jeweler in the region to authenticate diamonds using a microscope and today, every sales consultant at Kruckemeyer & Cohn is a graduate of the Gemological Institute (GIA) Graduate Diamonds program.

SCVNGR was founded in 2008 and has grown into a mobile gaming company with partners in more than 12,000 locations.
